Welcome
If you are just starting with Google Adsense, I think, before targeting a $100 a month Google Adsense earnings, it’s better to have an easier goal first, and that is to earn $1 per day or $30 per month. It took me 3 months before I achieved that when I’m starting. But how do you really get that? How much traffic do you really need? Let’s do some math.
For an average CTR of 3% and average cost-per-click (CPC) of $0.05, how many visitors do you need to get $1 a day?
With an average of 3% CTR, it means that you need 100 pageviews to get 3 clicks. With an average of $0.05 CPC, it means that you’ll earn just $0.15 for those 3 clicks. It means that for every 100 pageviews, you got 3 clicks and earn $0.15. Now, to get $1, it means that you need to have at least 20 clicks, and you’ll get 20 clicks only when you have 667 pageviews.
Now, check your pageviews. Do you get at least 667 pageviews per day? Note that 3% CTR is already a good average for a blog. If your blog is not optimized, you might even get a CTR less than 1%, which means that you need more pageviews to get more clicks.
Now, how do you get 667 page views a day? The pinay $candal keyword on which this blog is optimized is giving me at least 100 page views per day. To achieve that 667 page views a day, it means that you have to optimize at least 7 keywords on the first page of Google with traffic as much as that of pinay $candal. Quite tough huh? Not really.
See, I get that $1 a day in Adsense after 3 months. You can have it too in 3 months if you promise yourself to optimize at least 2 popular keywords in 1 month. Make it 3 on the 3rd month. 2 keywords in a month isn’t that hard, isn’t it?
Now, where do you get those keywords to optimize? I already shared my keyword research technique. And some bloggers already followed my foot steps on sharing new keywords to optimize. Bluemumble has his keyword of the day project. Silkenhut has his shawty project. And I also release new keywords from time to time.
Yeah, it takes a lot of time and effort. But if you really want to earn from blogging, you must be patient.
After hitting the $1/day goal, then try bigger goals. Do it slowly but surely.

* Google Adsense Is NOT For Everybody
The most common misconception of a new blogger wanting to earn from Adsense is that simply putting the Adsense code on his blog and blogging will give them the money. No. It is not as simple as that.
To earn from Google Adsense, you need lots of visitors. Not just hundreds, but thousands of visitors. If you are just an average blogger with just more than a hundred visitors per day, it is not for you.
Imagine, you need at least 667 pageviews a day just to earn a dollar a day (if your CTR is 3% and your average CPC is 5 cents). If you want a monthly payment from Google Adsense, you need to earn at least $100 every month. And to achieve that, you must at least earn $3.33 per day, which can only be achieved if you have 2200+ pageviews per day.
Now, tell me. Can you achieve that pageviews by simply blogging? Well, if your mother is not Sharon Cuneta (Hi KC! :) ) and you are just an ordinary blogger like me, simply blogging about your daily life will not drive your blog that much traffic. Do you have that much number of friends that will come everyday to your blog just to read your nonsense talks? I don’t think so.
I’m writing this not to discourage you. I’m writing this to tell you the realities behind Google Adsense. It is not an easy money. It is not as easy as what you think it is. And if you are not determined to work your a$$ out to get that much traffic, then Google Adsense is not for you.
Now, you might say, I’m not one of them. I’m determined to get that much traffic! But how? Here’s another free e-book for you. Promise yourself to read it and apply it on your blog. Yup, don’t just read it. Take actions! Apply it! And see your traffic increase everyday.
Update: Manuel Viloria thinks otherwise. Check his blog post, he got some very interesting arguments.
Update: Darren Rowse confirmed that it is not that easy to earn from blogging. Check out his Reality Check post here.
* My Google Adsense On Valentine’s Day
I really love Valentine’s Day. It just beat all my one-day record on Google Adsense, thanks for people addicted to text messages.
* Google Adsense Introduced The Video Unit
Google Adsense just announced a new way to earn income by using their video unit.
Here is their introduction:
AdSense isn’t just for ads anymore; it’s also a place to get video content for your site — and earn extra revenue at the same time.
We’re excited about the launch of video units — a new way to enrich your site with quality, relevant video content in an embedded, customizable player. Simply embed a snippet of code and have relevant YouTube partner content streamed to your site.
I still don’t know how this thing works. I checked my Adsense account and there is no settings for video unit yet at this time. Let’s learn more about this new feature by reading their FAQ.
* Shakespeare Quote and Adsense
“How poor are they that have not patience! What wound did ever heal but by degrees? Thou know’st we work by wit, and not by witchcraft; And wit depends on dilatory time.”
-From William Shakespeare’s Othello
So, let’s be patient. Because if you are not patient, Shakespeare said how poor you are? Hehehe. Adsense is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Only the people with patience succeed on it.
One of my college friends started using Adsense when he found out that I am already earning from it. I taught him some of the things I did. After more than 6 months, he’s nearing the $100 earnings and probably will receive his first check by July. His blog is getting 100+ unique hits everyday now.
Some earn fast. Some earn slow. But only those who stop failed. So, what to do? Just keep on blogging and keep on optimizing your blog. Your Adsense check will come when it’s time. Just be patient.
* Adsense For Search Optimization
I don’t earn that much on Adsense For Search. Not as much as my earnings on Adsense For Content. But still, an extra bucks from it is better than nothing. :)
This month, I already earned $37 on Adsense For Search. Just a fraction of my total Adsense earnings, but enough to buy 3 domain names, right?
Here are my tips for Adsense For Search optimization on blogs.
1. Setup your Adsense for Search default to Sitesearch your blog. Here’s how to do it. You don’t want to lose your visitors immediately, right? If they can find what they are looking for in your blog, that’s better.
2. Use the Adsense for Search with the Google logo. It gives people the assurance that they’ll get quality results if they use that search box.
3. Put your Adsense for Search box above the fold. So that people can see it immediately. The more eyeballs, the more people will use it.
4. Remove the competition. Remove other search boxes in your blog. The Wordpress search box? Remove it. Without the competition, the only way for people to search your blog is to use the Adsense For Search box. :) Don’t worry about the search result, Google search result is better than the Wordpress search result. Just make sure that your blog is properly indexed by Google.
Again, this has no guarantee whatsoever. I’m just sharing what works for me. Just look at this blog. All I’ve written here is applied on this blog. Try it!
